Can you die from untreated Thyroid problems?
If they are untreated for a maximum of 20 years, or even longer. Can you die from the condition? Like thyroid Cancer or something? What happens if it is left untreated??? I highly suspect I have it and have to wait another week for blood tests, I cannot take it.
Why do you think you have thyroid cancer? Hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism aren’t necessarily correlated with thyroid cancer, if that is what you were thinking. There are four type of thyroid cancers, with the medullary being the most malignant type that can kill you. It is very rare though and there is no way you would have had it for 20 years. Papillary is the most common and extremely benign. Found in many people incidentally on autopsy.
Well if you’ve had it for 20 years I’d say it probably won’t kill you this week. Waiting for the results is the hard part. You need to research the thyroid gland to see just what all it controls in your body. Just type thyroid in your search bar and read up on it. I have hypothyroidism, I take one pill a day and I’m fine. As for thyroid cancer I can’t offer you any advice or comments. The only reason I was tested for any thyroid problems was my hands and arms kept tingling, it was annoying but not painful. Don’t get yourself all upset over this. What’s one more week after waiting 20 years? We always seem to think the worst and when it comes right down to it, it isn’t as bad as we thought after all. Take care and may God bless you!
