causes of hypothyroidism Archives
I’ve been seriously working out ( cardio 3-4x week, weights 3x week) for the past 16 weeks. I’ve been watching what I eat, cutting out sugar and adding veggies. However I’ve only lost 1/2lb!!! I’ve lost 4 1/4 inches which is good but I expected much better results. I have been extra tired and felt "off" for awhile. Friends think the lack of weight loss is my thyroid. Could that be it or am I doing something wrong?
I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend the 2nd. On the night of the 16th ihad very light spotting. Could have been implanation. I took a hpt 2 days ago and this am-both false. I’m irregular but usually start by the 20th.. I’ve had nausea, funny taste in my mouth and light cramping. I also have hypothyroidism, which I take synthroid for, so I don’t kno if it would cause be to have a false negative or did I test too early? Any advice will help. THANKS!
Before I started treatment I had all of these symptoms especially the last one and I could not figure out for the life of me why. Then I found out dimensia is caused by untreated hypothyroidism. I still have all symptoms except for the last one now, but I don’t throw things. I blow up on the littlest things and because I’ve already dug a hole for myself and am completely angry at myself and the world, am persistent on making everything worse and am completely out of control. Afraid to bring this up to my doctor. Afraid he’ll just think I’m a nut who reads into things too much…..
People who have dementia often experience:
Confusion and memory loss.
Inability to complete everyday tasks.
Loss of self-control leading to unexpected behavior, such as throwing things, yelling at other people, or being suspicious of others.
Impaired judgment and reduced ability to make decisions and learn new things.
An eventual loss of control over physical functions, such as urination.
I have Graves disease, my doctor is really rude and won’t answer questions for me.

My husband was just diagnosed with this condition, and we are trying to conceive, so I´m curious if this would effect his sperm count.

Can Hypothyroidism cause swollen lymph node. Offlate i have been having swollen lymph nodes on my shoulder and below my ear. I am worried, please let me know
I know hypothyroidism can cause depression (I’ve had it before for a short period of time but it was only mild) but I was wondering if it can cause anxiety too. It’s never listed in "symptoms" but I know anxiety & depression often go hand-in-hand so I was curious.
I believe I may have it again as I’ve had it in the past but I am experiencing anxiety too so I wonder if it is actually depression not hypothyroidism. I have an exam on 5/12 to find out but I was curious in advance.
Can both be treated by anti-depressants or is the depression caused by hypothyroidism treated by an adjustment to thyroid medication. I’m curious about the connection.
i know what these conditions are. i would like to know what actually causes the gland to be overactive or underactive. is it the lifestyle,is it stress related, or due to food or anyother possible reasons? thank u
Thyroxine, the medication, is a case of the cure being worse than the disease. It makes me feel horrible, and the doctor just tells me ‘to continue taking the medication’.

The vet wants to run a full blood panel on my dog (nine years old) to see if there is an underlying cause of her newly diagnosed hypothyroidism. Does anyone know what some of the more likely culprits are?
