I just moved to the states 4 months ago and am looking for a health care insurance now. My job offers one, but is way too expensive with 60 dollars a week. I am looking for something cheap and effective since I need prescription drugs such as birth control, thyroid gland and kidney medicine. I need a low cost plan for single,27. No dental really needed. Any idea which one would be good to look at for me?I reside in Jax Florida.

I have been suffering from a hypothyroid condition for over two years and am on medication. Has anyone been able to stop taking their thyroid medication by eating certain foods? I have tried iodine supplements, thyroid supplements, and coconut oil, but I am still on the medication. I would really like to use food or vitamins instead.
Several years ago I did a full spectrum of blood tests. I remember they tested glucose, proteins, cholesterol, thyroid and related hormones etc… but what else usually goes into a battery of blood tests related to general health?
My lovely gf is often aggrivated by her mother and this has caused a psychological problem that has lead to her having a thyroid infection. The GP has noted that it is due to tension caused by frustration and anger. How can I help her change her diet and give her practices that will encourage a calmer mind (mental health concerns). I have considered Yoga and some Buddhist meditation for her any other ideas? Thanks guys.
I have low income. what do I do ?
The thyroid medicine I started taking two weeks ago might be cause me to be having twitches. Ive been also under alot of stess. I might be taking the medicine wrong but I’m not sure. I take it after I eat but i think I have to take it before I eat. I only had twitches For this week.
ok so my friend bought a diet pill and she has a thyroid condition the one where her metabolism isn’t as fast as the rest of ours… i’ve told her not to take it because of health issues and to do it the natural way. she says it doesn’t matter because it works like a laxative for her, but is this true? what do i tell her?
Well I feel like I have gain just recently because I have some kind of health problem. So I went to the doctor and he said that my thyroid was not normal so he took some blood.
A friend of mine is planning to try this, and because it’s Ephedra free she thinks it’s safe? What do some of you think? Also, she does not have hypothyroidism, but does have thyroid antibodies and occasional fluctuations with her TSH results(but nothing major), so she may eventually develop it. The label on this product says if you have thyroid disease not to use it. Wouldn’t this also apply to her, or could it make things worse? What can she use to boost her energy and burn fat without worsening her health? I’m thinking there is nothing other than patience and hard work.
Here is a breakdown of the product:

I’m thinking even if she loses the weight, the moment she stops taking the product, she’ll gain back more.
Is it possible that if you’re taking medication for an underactive thyroid, you can possibly switch over and develop an overactive one?
I don’t have any health insurance due to loss of my job. Therefore, I cannot afford the fee for my annual appointment with the MD who has treated my hypothyroidism for years. He is a specialist and actually doesn’t even accept insurance. I used to pay his very high fees out of pocket because I could afford to do so and it was worth it. My annual prescription for thyroid medication will run out in one month. Is there any other type of less expensive health care provider that can write/renew the same prescription that I’ve had for several years after I’ve had the annual blood work done?
I know there is a 5% chance of cancer if only a nodule is found. BUT I have been having unknown health problems for 4 years. They found my thyroid level to be pretty low. The nodule was mostly solid and the ultrasound couldnt rule cancer out. I didnt see anything about hot or cold. The specialist said he cant see me for 2 months. Ofcourse I am not going to wait that long. Does it seem like my chances are higher than 5%?
My friend has a severe thyroid disorder and has no health insurance. She is poor and needs MRIs and other VERY expensive procedures done. She is dying very quickly and I just need to find some help for her! Thanks for the help.
A friend of mine was recently told by a doctor that she should get an ultrasound for a pronounced (or enlarged) thyroid. What are the potential health complications indicated by a pronounced thyroid?
I have Hosimotos Hypothyroid. I have read that L-Tyrosine and iodine help for Thyroid function. Will taking these supplements effect how my thyroid medication works? With is give me too much T-4.?

I had to shave when I was a teen and into my 20’s, but I’m nearly 50 now and haven’t had to shave my legs (and only once a month or so my armpits) for the past 20 years.
I am a blue-eyed, fair-skinned blonde and my mother never had much hair on her legs either. I’ve always assumed I inherited a ‘hairless’ gene.
I am in good health with a normal thyroid – but I heard somewhere this could be indicative of a health issue?
Anyone know?
signs I have shown in the past several months;fatigue all the time skin problems weight gain;depression;inability to concentrate
My regular doctor has me on thyroid supplement for normal but low thyroid. My symptoms (normal body temperature but freezing all the time) are not helped. There are supposedly thyroid problems that are not detected by regular blood tests. What type of doctor does the more involved thyroid testing?
I am currently unemployed and I can’t get insurance through assistance because my fiance makes too much money. I am having constant health problems and all of my symptoms and immediate family health history points to Thyroid. All of my immediate family has it and this is affecting my every day life. I need this taken care of. If anyone can help please let me know…Thank you.
I’ve been getting a headache sincde Tuesday when I started taking the thyroid supplements. Can anyone comment on why? There’s really nothing in there to hurt me, at least I don’t think?
Kelp is a seaweed that naturally contains high amounts of iodine. I have been taking 1 capsule a day of supplement made from Kelp that provides 400 mcrograms fo iodine- which is 267% of daily recommended value.
I am hoping this will shrink my thyroid nodule.
Otherwise my blood work shows a normal level of thyoxine.
What if any are possible side effects?
Thanks
Letter from Dr re: recent bloodwork says, "thyroid levels were low and you would benefit from taking a thydroid supplement. Please call to start med." I don’t want to take meds. I take nothing now and don’t want to start! I am a 57 yr old female, 6 years into menopause. This is first bloodwork in 4 years. I am a runner. No weight problem. Symptoms, if you want to call them that, are: hot flashes, slower/inconsistant running, some insomnia, little interest in sex, mild fatigue. All of which I attributed to menopause. Of course, I’d be happy to have improvement there, but they’re not a big problem.
Just got the letter so haven’t discussed with Dr. what the levels are and how I might benefit from the meds. Looking for info and homeopathic suggestions before I tell him I don’t want to take the meds.
My mom suffers from a thyroid condition and there is a good chance it could be hereditary. Because of her thyroid condition, my mom gained nearly a hundred pounds, as well as various other side effects, before her doctors could figure out why and stabilize her, and her doctors believe that it might be genetic. Because she was adopted and her records sealed, we have no way to prove one way or the other.
So, at 18, I’m wondering what I and my younger sister and brother can to to keep our thyroids in good health and prevent or lower the risk of illness/disease.
I believe my mother has hypothyroidism.
I had a recent tsh test done & it came back that i was on too much syntroid . But I was told to stay on that dose, I feel tired alot, is this the cause?
