My lovely gf is often aggrivated by her mother and this has caused a psychological problem that has lead to her having a thyroid infection. The GP has noted that it is due to tension caused by frustration and anger. How can I help her change her diet and give her practices that will encourage a calmer mind (mental health concerns). I have considered Yoga and some Buddhist meditation for her any other ideas? Thanks guys.
I have all of the symptoms of hypothyroidism..I am just not overweight. I was chubby up until the time I was 17 when I started a strict workout and diet schedule. I still gain weight relatively easily but I am much better at managing it now. Is it possible that I do have a thyroid problem and it just isn’t extreme? All advice is appreciated!

My thyroid is overactive. I only have motherwort in powder form so I’m not sure exactly how much or how often to take it and I don’t want to waste it. Any information that would help is welcomed. I try to eat a good diet with cabbage, carrots, broccoli, peaches, pears and more. Thank you
I have hypothyroidism and trying to lose weight any suggestions for a diet for people with hypothyroidism?
I’m a big believer that you are what you eat. I know that entire books have been written on the best diet to follow if you have thyroid problems. I would appreciate a recommendation for such a book.
I was wondering if someone could give me sights to explain what hypothyroidism is.? The doctor said I was perfectly healthy other than that. I know weight loss is an issue, but can it cause infertility or the inability to concieve right away? I really love my doctor but he did not explain what it was. I am 10 weeks and 4 days pregnant and wanted to know if it could cause any complications in pregnancy. I know this is alot to ask but I wanted to know whether other than tyroid medication whether there was anything in my diet I needed to change. Any help would be appreciated. I only would like advice. I know that you are not doctors but any helpful sites or input would be useful.
Thank you in advance.
My mom is getting over weight. She had two liposuction and she tried every diet she have heard. We know she has an hormone disorder, but she went to the doctor and didn’t help, she heard that probably is hypothyroidism. Her legs and arms are huge and she feels discomfort , burning, tingling, tired, and not even before to go to bed. Also she is retaining water.
Okay, I have thyroid cancer and had a total thyroidectomy. In preperation for my scans, I had to stop taking all my thyroid hormone (synthroid), so, I’m severely hypothyroid now. The last month and a half, I’ve been on a diet and exercise at least 5 days a week. Even with my diet and workout, I have not lost a single pound and in fact have gained a tiny bit. Is this normal? Does your thyroid play that much into weight loss?
about a year ago i was diagnosed with graves disease, which is a thyroid disease, and i was treated for it about 6 months ago by having my thyroid killed off with a radioactive iodine pill, and now i’ve been taking thyroid hormone replacement medication for about 6 months now. i was wondering what kind of effect thyroid diseases have on your weight. in about 2 years, i’ve gained 20 lbs (my lifestyle and diet have changed slightly, but not much), and i’ve been dieting and exersicing for 5 months now, but have only managed to lose 10 lbs. i lost that 10 lbs in the first 3 months, and since then, i havent lost any weight. i was wondering if this was due in part to my thyroid disease. please let me know what you think!!! i need some advice about trying to loose weight while still having a thyroid (metabolism) disease.
sorry inspiredbeme, but i have been dieting and exersizing for 4 months now, and i have only lost 3 lbs. i was 118 two years ago, and now i’m 140. i have been changing my diet and i exersize 1 hour a day, and i still havent seen any results. i just want to know if it’s because of my thyroid that i’m having such a hard time. and you’re only 118! what do you have to worry about?!
*oops, sorry, 113!
