I have had thyroid symptoms for a long time, with always normal labs. Doesn’t make sense. Past couple years ultrasound every 6 mos. for thyroid swelling. Multi nodular goiter. Last week u/s showed one nodule getting larger. Have to have fine needle biopsy. I am so scared, right here at Christmas to have to go through this. Have feeling of choking, tightness in throat, lots of congestion in throat, hoarseness at times, fatigue, nervousness, palpitations etc. NORMAL LABS..Anyone have any suggestions? Mother had thyroid removed 80 yrs ago lots of thyroid disease in family. No thyroid cancer, though. I’m scared anyone have this problem????I do have cervical disc ruptures that I’m suppose to have surgery for, could that be causing any of my symptoms???Thanks so much for anyone who can help!!!

Letter from Dr re: recent bloodwork says, "thyroid levels were low and you would benefit from taking a thydroid supplement. Please call to start med." I don’t want to take meds. I take nothing now and don’t want to start! I am a 57 yr old female, 6 years into menopause. This is first bloodwork in 4 years. I am a runner. No weight problem. Symptoms, if you want to call them that, are: hot flashes, slower/inconsistant running, some insomnia, little interest in sex, mild fatigue. All of which I attributed to menopause. Of course, I’d be happy to have improvement there, but they’re not a big problem.
Just got the letter so haven’t discussed with Dr. what the levels are and how I might benefit from the meds. Looking for info and homeopathic suggestions before I tell him I don’t want to take the meds.

Doctor had a blood test done today because irregular periods and fatigue. I also have acne that just started last few months, losing alot of hair, trouble losing weight, mouthful of canker sores, twitchy eye, blurry vision that comes and goes. Now I’m curious, is all this related? I’ve just been ignoring it, because everytime I go to a doctor for the canker sores they just say it’s stress.
I am 19 and have been diabetic for 1 year. The past 3 weeks I have had several panic attacks, and felt some fatigue every once in a while. Also a couple of times I have felt really cold hands and feet, but not constantly. Does this sound like a thyroid problem to you, or just stress, depression, etc.?
Can anyone relate to this? I have many of the classic symptoms of hypothyroidism but I don’t have low thyroid. I just got the call that my blood test showed normal. I have been living with these awful symptoms for two years now, what do I do now?
Thank you everyone for your responses, very helpful. My symptoms are: very bad muscle aches, headaches, cold intolerance, memory problems, FATIGUE, concentration problems, dry skin, dry hair, low sex drive, and some others I can’t think of because of memory problems ![]()
HI, I have dealt with my thyroid for almost 15 years. Off and on the symptoms return, my thyroid levels balanced or not. My question is, can the symptoms of Hyperthyroidism, and Hypothyroidism intermingle? For example, the biggest symptoms have been fatigue, nervousness, etc. but another big one has been the numbness in only my left arm. Also in my left arm, I feel the strong pulse and weakness. Any help would be great, thanks.
