I’ve been losing and gaining weight. I heard that it may be my thyroid. I want to know about thyroid health problems and how to prevent if you do have it. Are there any drugs that you can get at the store for it? Help me out

Hi, I have hypothyroidism, and have for years now. I am 18 and every year i have lost weight. I know one of the usual symptoms is gaining weight, can hypothyroidism also cause someone to lose weight?

And, did the docs treat it? If you were borderline, did they not do anything?

I have been tested as hypo-thyroid a zillion times in the past few years, and I’m convinced I now have it for certain. I am tired, cold, gaining weight like crazy, dry skin, you name it, I probably am dealing with it.

Help. I feel lousy.

A friend of mine have part of her thyroid being removed several years ago (not sure exactly why), and logically she’s having hypothyroidism problem currently, although the doctor gave her medicine to meet the requirement.
Anyone know how to fix this problem?

Oh yes, she’s been having bad mood and seems to forget simple things.
She is also gaining weight, but unfortunately no none seem to be able to stop her from consuming hi-fat/cholesterol food.
Is this common in such problem?
