Would a thyroidectomy resolve the problems I have due to my hypothyroidism?
For many years I have had extreme problems due to my hypothyroidism. I have dark course hair on my face, stomach, back, buttock, and legs(I am female so this is not normal.) I also get hot flashes, overactive sweating, extreme weight loss and weight gain. I have been on Synthroid medication int he past and this hasn’t helped wtih any of these things. Would a thyroidectomy solve these problems for me?

HELP WITH THYROXINE USED FOR WEIGHT LOSS WITH NO THYROID PROBLEMS?
My friend hasn’t got any thyroid problems that she knows of but is really thinking about taking thyroxine to lose weight and i’m worried this might be a dangerous thing for her to do as i’ve only known people with thyroid problems to take them. Does anyone know what wil happen if she takes them and has anyone out there took them for the same reason before who could offer some advise for her, Any help, advice or stories about other people in this situation would be very much welcomed

Anyone have weight loss on Armour Thyroid?
I have just switched from Levoxyl to Armour Thyroid today and I was wondering if anyone has experienced any weight loss success while on Armour. I have reduced my caloric intake and increased exercise, but my weight hasn’t budged. I’m hoping this switch to Armour will help me lose the extra 10 pounds.
Any success stories or hints?
