I just moved to the states 4 months ago and am looking for a health care insurance now. My job offers one, but is way too expensive with 60 dollars a week. I am looking for something cheap and effective since I need prescription drugs such as birth control, thyroid gland and kidney medicine. I need a low cost plan for single,27. No dental really needed. Any idea which one would be good to look at for me?I reside in Jax Florida.

I have a swollen thyroid gland in my neck.?
I dont know how long my neck been swollen i just felt my neck the other day and it was swollen. From the beginning of this year i have been itching, lost weight, lost muscle mass, weakness, nausea, headaches that comes from my neck etc.I have been to the hospital 3 times and no help because i have no insurance.Well i started a new job and i get my insurance in 30 days.Should i wait till then to go back to to the hospital.

I don’t have any health insurance due to loss of my job. Therefore, I cannot afford the fee for my annual appointment with the MD who has treated my hypothyroidism for years. He is a specialist and actually doesn’t even accept insurance. I used to pay his very high fees out of pocket because I could afford to do so and it was worth it. My annual prescription for thyroid medication will run out in one month. Is there any other type of less expensive health care provider that can write/renew the same prescription that I’ve had for several years after I’ve had the annual blood work done?

My friend has a severe thyroid disorder and has no health insurance. She is poor and needs MRIs and other VERY expensive procedures done. She is dying very quickly and I just need to find some help for her! Thanks for the help.

I am going to be changing medical insurance soon. Am at UC Davis now. They only look at the numbers and ignore the symptoms. How does Kaiser treat hypothyroidism?

I am thinking the olnly way to have my hypothyroidism treated properly is to find a homeopathic doctor.
Calling them is a good idea and I did that. But I would like tohear from patients who have dealt with the issue and wheather they happy with their treatment.

I am currently unemployed and I can’t get insurance through assistance because my fiance makes too much money. I am having constant health problems and all of my symptoms and immediate family health history points to Thyroid. All of my immediate family has it and this is affecting my every day life. I need this taken care of. If anyone can help please let me know…Thank you.

I recently been diagnosed with Stage 2 Thyroid Cancer. I have been advised to have my Thyroid removed. I was laid off from my job in Oct 2008 and have no insurance or job. What are my chances of getting coverage of the surgery since this now a pre-existing condition (it has been diagnosed as cancer)? I have some money saved up but nowhere close to the cost of the surgery.

Should I just consider Medicaid or move to Canada?

Thanks…

Hello-
I just started college a year ago and last year had problems with my expences, everything went to school and food basically —I kept a strict budget and saved A LOT, and because of that this year i THINK i can afford health insurance and i really need it for i have been going without my thyroid prescription because it is kinda pricy and i have to PAY a doctor to get the persription renewed and all the tests that go with it.

So- does anyone know of any good health care plans , kinda on the cheap side that would help me out with my doctor visits and prescriptions?

I don’t have insurance and I don’t have the money to go to the doctor, but I really need some kind of help to try to lose this weight. I exercise but it doesn’t seem to help.
