My regular doctor has me on thyroid supplement for normal but low thyroid. My symptoms (normal body temperature but freezing all the time) are not helped. There are supposedly thyroid problems that are not detected by regular blood tests. What type of doctor does the more involved thyroid testing?

My dog has low thyroid and I was just wondering what he felt. The vet was amazed at the results of several blood tests, because he didn’t exhibit the typical signs of lethargy and obesity.

I have ‘low thyroid’ … I recently read on-line that dairy products can have an affect on the supplements I take, but I couldn’t find out more. I know I could do a search, but want to hear from others like me as to their experiences with dairy and supplements, too.

I am under weight and i eat eat and eat and there is no way in the world i can gain weight. My doctor just discovered that i have a low thyroid problem. Can this be the cause of why i can not gain weight because i am still not being treated for this.

My parents don’t believe me when I tell them I feel depressed and I looked online and low thyroid levells (what I have) can cause it.
I’m working on my thyroid level but what can I do about depression?

Can anyone relate to this? I have many of the classic symptoms of hypothyroidism but I don’t have low thyroid. I just got the call that my blood test showed normal. I have been living with these awful symptoms for two years now, what do I do now?
Thank you everyone for your responses, very helpful. My symptoms are: very bad muscle aches, headaches, cold intolerance, memory problems, FATIGUE, concentration problems, dry skin, dry hair, low sex drive, and some others I can’t think of because of memory problems :-)
