Symptoms of thyroid problems

Sub activity of the thyroid – what is that?

Sub activity of the thyroid is low activity of a gland of Thyroid that is an endocrine gland situated in the anterior cervical side, straight under the box of the sound. Beyond that, the gland secretes over 100 enzymes responsible for great activities of all cells in the body. Intensified portion of the hormones liable to amplify the cellular metabolism until 100% over the norm, while if the hormones are not secreted, the metabolism descends to 40%. In the most cases of sub activity of the thyroid it is because of descent in functioning.

Thyroid function

Thyroid gland is part of an extensive system, which the major systems are the hypothalamus, pituitary (pituitary gland), kidney, and liver. Injury in each of these systems may lead to thyroid activity.

What disrupts thyroid activity?

Other things that can disrupt thyroid activity are lack of iodine in the diet, and then the gland can’t produce T4. In this situation, the gland usually swells a condition common in the developing world. Stress can also cause problems: If you are a long time in a state of continuous tension and exhaustion, there will not be enough cortisol in the kidneys and liver to make the T4 to T3 even if the gland produces enough T4.

Who has it?

Today it is estimated that about 13 million Americans suffer from thyroid disorder, but over half of them are not diagnosed, because many people interpret these signs to aging phenomena. The elderly more prone to disease, but it may evolve for everyone – from infancy. Thyroid testing is one of the first tests carried out by after birth, since sub thyroid activity in a newborn is a life-threatening situation.

Ok.

When I was first diagnoised with thyroid problems, I was diagnoised with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis (hypothryoidism).

I have symptoms of it: dry skin, brittle nails, I’m constantly tired, I have memory problems, a large goiter, and I’ve always had weight problems.

However- I also have symptoms of hyperthyroidism.
Symptoms I have: I’m nervous, my hands shake, I sweat a lot, I’ve got a 50% chance of running to the bathroom after eating, my hair isn’t exactly what I would call fine, but it is soft, and it falls out.

So is it normal to have symptoms of both? Thank you.

i want to have a baby and my periods are irregular because of thyroid problems. does that mean i am not fertile or i cant have children right now?

I’m not asking for the antidepressant run through that talks about a chemical imbalance in the brain, but what are some non-psychological disorders/illnesses that would cause depression and panic attacks? As in, what are some alternative diagnosis? eg. thyroid problems

I have trounle losing any weight even though i work at it, i think i MAY have thyroid problems can an 18 year old have them? and if so are there any symptoms im really a rookie when it comes to illnesses and stuff

my mom has thyroid problems and i was wonder if i could have it to. what are the symptoms if any? and im 14 yr.s old..
how do i go about asking my dr. if i have thyroid problems?
can it cause me to be more tired and make it hard for me to fall asleep?

My regular doctor has me on thyroid supplement for normal but low thyroid. My symptoms (normal body temperature but freezing all the time) are not helped. There are supposedly thyroid problems that are not detected by regular blood tests. What type of doctor does the more involved thyroid testing?

If doctors have found all 3 types of disporders linking together why not just look at it as thyroid disorder, plenty of articles so far ive read today lead directly to bad diagnoses of patients with thyroid problems, if loss of energy and depression are only treated for depression shouldnt docs be more focused these days to make damn sure its not a thyroid disorder. For the past couple of years myself ive been having the exact symptons, the response from the doctors has so far been are you training, i say no so that is the problem straight away, forget the blood test patient, just get out there, so what if you pretty much are to tired and depressed to do training why dont they go heck lets check for thyroid, and my mom has diabetes she has all the signs of thyroid mulfunction so now shes been on diabetes meds, but thyroid is directly linked to how your body produces insulen or not enough of it aswell as loss of energy and therefore not enough sleep lack of concentration. What is wrong with these docs ill be pissed if my moms diabetes was wrongly diagnosed especially if its a problem with her thyroid, plus meds for diabetes are expensive maybe its about helping the parmaceutical companies to profit more but thats just sick.

Whats your point of view on this.

.. my girlfriend has went at least a month or two without taking her levithyroxin for her hypothyroiditis more than a few times in the past year, will this have a lasting effect on her if she doesnt take it regurally and anyone have experiences with thyroid problems or autoimmunehypothyroiditis before???

This is not my issue, guys, its my sister. She wants to know, if you have thyroid problems, is it hard to conceive a baby?

I’m a big believer that you are what you eat. I know that entire books have been written on the best diet to follow if you have thyroid problems. I would appreciate a recommendation for such a book.

I’m about to get tested if I have thyroid problems. I was wondering, if you do have thyroid problems do you get to spend alot of time of school/work?

i need all the help i can get i have a friend that thinks she could possibly have thyroid problems. any help would be great!

my mom and i have been dieting and working out 5-6 days a week for the past few months, she is losing weight regularly, and i can not seems to lose more than a few pounds and then i gain it right back. my grandma, my mom, and my aunt all have thyroid problems, and are on medication to control it, i have never been tested for thyroid problems (im 23), my mom keeps telling me i need to be tested, could a thyroid problem really stop me from losing weight? i always felt like saying that was a cop out for people who werent really trying hard to lose weight but i am really trying hard, my mom and i are doing the exact same workout routine, and eat a lot of the same things too, so im just confused as to why shes losing weight and im not, could it really be due to a thyroid issue? thanks for any thoughts!

My mom has had thyroid problems (it eventually had to be removed), and I would like to recognize any problems before they get too advanced, preferably without having to get a blood test every few months for it.

I know the thyroid gland regulates like temperature and mood, how could I isolate any problems caused by my thyroid?

My friend hasn’t got any thyroid problems that she knows of but is really thinking about taking thyroxine to lose weight and i’m worried this might be a dangerous thing for her to do as i’ve only known people with thyroid problems to take them. Does anyone know what wil happen if she takes them and has anyone out there took them for the same reason before who could offer some advise for her, Any help, advice or stories about other people in this situation would be very much welcomed
thank you

My daughter’s tyroid seem enlarged and I was curious if she may have an underactive thyroid. She had gained weight in the last year.
And what causes thyroid problems

Recently I was told that I probably have thyroid problems however I thought these kinds of problems usually show up in older or heavy people? I’m not really sure if thyroid problems are linked to depression or what. Or how someone could even assume that I had thyroid issues. Would crying a lot or for little reasons be a dead give away?

I was wondering if there were any other teens out there with thyroid problems that i could talk to? I just need some one who is going through it to talk to. Please reply if you know anyone with thyroid problems or you have any. I need someone to talk to.

I was wondering that can marijuana use lead to problems with the thyroid. Problems such as, thyroid cancer, graves disease, and hypo and hyper thyroid problems. In the last week my throat has been sore and it feels swollen and it does feel uncombfortable especially when I smoke and when a wear a tight neck t-shirt. Is this simply because i’ve been smoking too much or is it because there’s something wrong? Thanks

Hello. I’m fifteen years old and kind of curious as to if I have hypo/hyperthyroidism. I haven’t had a chance to get to a doctor just yet, but I plan on going soon. I did some research and it seems as though I have oh, so many of the symptoms. But I noticed that most people experiencing thyroid problems are in their mid-thirties. So maybe I can get a second opinion?
I’d greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

I have a co-worker that used to be so easy to get along with. We laughed a lot and just got along great. Lately though she is often cranky and has such strong reactions to little things. She has been dealing with thyroid problems.
Has anyone had this happen?

My daughter has a under-active thyroid, the condition she has is called hashimoto’s Disease. She is 17yrs old and her bone age is of a 12yr old. I found out she has been drinking alcohol when going out with her friends. Since her growth is already a problem with her thyroid almost non existent and will be gone in time, and trying to getting her growth development up to where she should be. I wanted to know how alcohol would affect someone with thyroid problems?

I’ve been having a lot of nasty symptoms for the past few months, and thyroid problems run in my family.

The problem is that I’m deathly afraid of getting blood taken from my arm. It’s like a phobia. I’ve avoid going to the doctor because of it.

Can they test for it some other way?
