I have yet to go for a TSH but a recent ultrasound found several thyroid nodules. I have gained 20 lbs in the past month and really can’t afford this! I have several other symptoms as well such as palpitations, trouble swallowing, etc. My question is…. if they get my thyroid regulated with meds, will my excess weight come off or am I doomed to be like this? I am not a vain person. I am getting married soon and need to fit in my wedding dress! Hoping for some answers.
Went to a doctor…he took my blood and sent to pathlab…thing shows I dont have thyroid…but i have most of the symptoms of thyroid….BUT from the report…I only see T4 and TSH…did the doctor miss T3?
I have:
Fatigue-Weakness ( I have very low stamina)
Heat Intolerance ( Even at night…while not moving like lying down…if there’s no fan I sweat even the weather it is not hot)
A little bit of Depression
Constipation (mine is infrequent)
Nervousness and Tremors (I hate this)
Ya for example an experiment animal, we remove the thyroid gland. My "theory" is that, if TRH is produced from Hypothalamus and it makes the Hypofize (sorry if I spelled wrong in my language) produce TSH, that make Thyroid produce T3 and T4, but T3 and T4 influence in increase or decrease of TRH, then if we remove thyroid, the levels of TRH should be decreased until stopped. Which is the right answer?

I got a blood test and it shows that my TSH is a bit elevated. My neck feels a lil swollen and I feel a bit hyper. Is this overreactive thyroid? I also have shortness of breath at night when I am going to bed. But not asleep yet.
Anyone else had those issues? I don’t have my thyroid nor do I have my female reproductive organs(hysterectomy) and have a lot of physical and now mental things going on after being given PRemarin. My thyroid test (TSH) showed normal range according to my family doctor and they lowered my dose from 2.0 to .5 and things started going downhill from there. I have felt like I was going crazy.
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism a month ago and was put on Levothyroxine. I am still feeling run down and tired and my muscles and joints in my legs hurt so bad I can barely walk sometimes. Do I need to talk to my endocrinologist and get a different medication or do I need to give it a little longer? Is it normal to hurt so bad?
I had a full blood work up, the only other thing that it shoed was anemia. My TSH was 246.42.
I had blood work done about a week ago for a possible thyroid problem. I know that that is a pretty in depth test, they check cholesterol, t3, t4, and TSH, but its coming up on 8 days with no news from the Dr., just seems a little long to me. I asked them to call either way just so I know.
