I’ve had a similar problem recently but with a hyper one. With a slow one you should feel sluggish, gain some weight, feel like you can’t concentrate in class.
weight gain, fatigue, slow digestion and constipation
im no doctor but ive had thyroid problems my whole life and when my meds are low these are the symptoms i get that are typical for under-active thyroids
More people blame their thyroid for their own personal inability to loose weight, when they feel more tired than usual, or when they’re gaining weight and can’t explain it.
I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism with Hashimoto’s disease. Basically what that means is I have a very underactive thyroid, and with the disease, should my thyroid produce any thyroxin in my body normally, the disease kills it off.
Yes, you could have all those symptoms the person above listed. However, if you have a lump at the base of your throat too, that would be your most major indicator. It wouldn’t be noticeable, necessarily, however you could feel it. Place your hand just above your collar bone, and lightly wrap your hand around the bottom of your throat. Now, swallow deeply. If you feel a large roundish lump there, that’s your enlarged thyroid, IF you have an actual underactive thyroid, that is. I’m not saying you WILL feel it, only you MIGHT feel that. If you do, don’t dispare. Medicine can help regulate your thyroid and you can have a normal life. The only positive way to find out if your thyroid IS truly underactive, is to have your blood tested. Having some symptoms isn’t indicitive of a defective thyroid. And having your blood tested isn’t that expensive if you go to your local clinic and tell them what you’re interested in finding out. Good Luck!
