Thyroid Symptoms…but no thyroid.. and did the doctor miss T3?
Went to a doctor…he took my blood and sent to pathlab…thing shows I dont have thyroid…but i have most of the symptoms of thyroid….BUT from the report…I only see T4 and TSH…did the doctor miss T3?
I have:
Fatigue-Weakness ( I have very low stamina)
Heat Intolerance ( Even at night…while not moving like lying down…if there’s no fan I sweat even the weather it is not hot)
A little bit of Depression
Constipation (mine is infrequent)
Nervousness and Tremors (I hate this)
The TSH is a lousy test because TSH changes throughout the day. One could test in the morning and be hypothyroid, but test in the afternoon and be normal. When having a TSH it needs to be done first thng in the morning when metabolism is at its lowest. If you had a noon time or afternoon TSH it is worthless.
About T3 and T4 tests…..The free t4 and free t3 are the ones to have. Often doctors will order totals not frees. Y
Your symptoms sound both hypo and hyper. My first test showed I was "normal" too. 9 months later my symptoms got more severe and I finally got diagnosed based on TSH. Get a repeat test first thing in the morning (within an hour of waking) get a free t4, free t3, TSH, and an antibody test.
You mean thyroid problems. Your bloodwork shows no thyroid problems. Surely, you have a thyroid unless they took it out already. It sure sounds like you have some sort of metabolism problem though. I had my thyroid partially taken out as a kid and I gained massive weight afterwards. I still have some of the symptoms you list. You might want to get a second opinion from another doctor.
